Exams are over, and my summer holidays began Thursday, when I handed in my Java exam.
I'll be very surprised if I fail - the code works, and does what it's supposed to. But at the same time - what if the lecturer wanted it to be prettier? I don't quite know if there is no smarter way of getting things out of an ArrayList - and if it makes a difference if there is.
It was unfair to begin with also, as ArrayLists weren't even in the curriculum - I did some major reading while making the assignment.

Well, no matter. The holidays are here. I'm going to Paris w. my mum and younger brother next week - I'm looking very much forward to it.

11:30 pm - Exam time
We handed in our project Monday last week. My first exam is on Tuesday. It's Math.
It's kind of scary, but I think I'll be alright. It's done on the internet (but on campus for the exam) and there is a trial exam I'm going to take tomorrow. I took one already and passed it, but I got some help. Now I'll try on my own.

The next exam is on Thursday - it's the project. We're not ready, and I cannot see when we will be. Either we're completely fucked, or we're going to work constantly Mon-Wednesday. Boo!

Then, next Monday, there is Scientific Computing, which I am not ready for. It sucks. I'm going to have to work all of the next weekend to make it, I think.

I don't think I ever mentioned it here, but I've begun running. My goal is to run for half an hour straight. I don't really remember when I began, but I think I'm done next week. Last Sunday I ran 23 minutes. I don't think I've ever been able to do that before. It's really awesome.
One thing that's weird, though, is that it's not a bad thing to be short of breath. I'm really used to stopping and breathing when that happened, but I just breathe quicker when I run. It's not uncomfortable at all - just unfamiliar.

I've been playing computer games all day, instead of preparing for Math. Which means I have to be much more efficient tomorrow.
Some times it really sucks to procrastinate.

10:01 pm - Music and tv!
I really love this song. It's so relaxing, and it makes me really happy.

I spent some of yesterday and today w. mum, two brothers, boyfriend and nephew. I had a really good time.
There's something immensely satisfying about the love of a two year-old. The last time I looked after him on my own, he knew beforehand that I was coming. He was so excited, he couldn't sleep for his noon nap. It makes me warm and fuzzy inside :)
I hope I can have a similar relationship w. the niece. She lives further away, and I think it'll be harder, as I can't just come over and look after her, for her parents. But I hope for it still.

I have an exam today. I'm at the University, and I'm really nervous. My head and stomach hurt, and I feel slightly nauseous.
It begins in an hour, w. a group talk. That should take an hour. The individual exam takes 35-45 minutes, and I don't know when it'll be my turn. I fucking hate exams.

2:47 am - NYE again
Am now back to feeling uncomfortable and scared, as there are some assholes outside. They seem to think it's funny, to blow fireworks down the street or in a random angle into the air.
I wish they'd go to bed. And have well-deserved hang-overs the next two weeks.

7:23 pm - Writer's Block: Auld Lang Syne

For those who are into such things, this might be the biggest party night of the year. Other people like to keep it a little more low key. How do you plan to ring in the New Year?

I hate NYE.
I don't trust people to act safely any other time of the year, and around this time they've got fireworks too.
I feel unsafe walking in the evenings two weeks prior to NYE, and unsafe inside the house on NYE itself.

My mum moved ti this house two years ago. Before that, we lived in big house with a big garden. The other houses were not that close, and the neighbours didn't blow of a lot of fireworks.
This house is in a suburban neighbourhood, and it's like people are firing fireworks just outside the house.

I really don't like it. I'm kind of afraid the house is going to be lit on fire. I long for it to be over.

Yesterday was Stig's birthday! His parents and one of two sisters came for a visit. They arrived about 10 o'clock, and brought their Christmas present for us (not wrapped!), and we now have a shiny, new microwave oven w. grill and such, on the top of our refrigerator.
Then Stig, his mum and I drove our to buy us some shelves for our kitchen. We got a white one with eight quadratic shelves - it fits right into the superfluous hole into the living room.
Then we put up a cabinet (which hangs on the wall) in the kitchen. Now our plates and glasses reside there, and we suddenly have a lot more space in our built-in cabinets. Its great!
We also hung a mirror, a lamp, and a painting, my father made.
We also got a basket of food (rice, chocolate, tea, nuts...).
Then we ate buns and cake. Later we went out and ate a restaurant, where I got salmon. Mmmm!

I don't own any Christmas music, and even if I did, Stig wouldn't let be listen to it - he's not that big a fan of Christmas things. So I'm listening to Christmas music on Last.fm's radio. It's nice.

Must get back to writing about usability now.

10:37 pm - Math!
I just passed a Math exam w. 100%! I rule!
Exam has been split into three parts. This one was number two. I got 85% in the first one. I thought this one was harder, so it's funny I were better this time.
Anyway: w00t!

Am at uni at the moment. I'm not really productive, partly because I'm mad at myself for forgetting my doctor's appointment. I've waited a month for it, and then I forget it. I made a new appointment, but it's on the eighth of December. That's a long time :/

We're five people in my group. One of them stretches five+ times a day, showing off his hairy belly. I cannot help being annoyed each time - I don't really want to look at his belly. Its annoying, distracting and kind of gross, in a tmi kind of way. Yeuch!

I really should be working :s

Q: What makes a non-vegan, not-really-vegetarian couple make kind-of-vegan pancakes?
A: No eggs!

But we did use milk..
These were v. good pancakes. Nice and light. Mmmm!
The difference is using baking powder instead of eggs. I think we'll make them like this the next time too.

My laptop finally came! It's an Asus EEE 901 w. Linux. It's v. small: http://www.trustedreviews.com/images/article/inline/7344-IMG3341s.jpg (except mine is black)
As you can see, the keyboard is quite small, but so far it's going quite well.

1:05 pm - Home again!
Actually, I got home Friday, but still.
Fresher's trip was mucho fun! I've talked to a lot of people, I danced a lot Thursday night and also drank a bit. I went to bed at two o'clock Wednesday night and got up at 7:30AM. To bed around 4 AM Thursday and up at 8.
When I got home Friday I slept three hours, from about three to six. Had dinner and went to bed at 9PM and slept twelve hours. Now everything's back to normal, and there's Math tomorrow afternoon. Bleh.

8:12 pm - Letter meme
Ten things starting w. the letter C!

C - It's not a commonly used letter in Danish. Also: I'm learning to code in C at the moment.
Circle - It's math! Trigonometry and such.
Cuddling - Need I say more? I loves it.
Circus - I don't think I've been to one since I was a child. I loved it back then.
Candy - YUM! Mostly liquorice :D
Cembalo - It's the Danish word for harpsichord. I like harpsichords.
Cycling - I like to ride my bike. It's still at my mum's house, so I'm looking forward to getting it here.
Costume - My fresher's weekend is coming up - just not on a weekend. I have to be dressed as a super villain, and I'm going as Poison Ivy from Batman.
Cookies - Also yum.
Cake - ..the cake is a lie!
